Hunter, you had folks emotionally taking sides, ect. yesterday, without setting your intentions as clearly comedic. And you let it go. I don't like that. That's using folks for your entertainment, et al. I like your work Hunter. I don't like this. Please, no more. I look forward to your new work(s).

Boy, you're a sanctimonious, po-faced little whiner some times! So all gags have to be clearly flagged up as such with cute little smiley faces for the benefit of all those slow on the uptake and quick to take offence? We can't poke fun at each other any more? The fuck with that. Using each other for 'entertainment purposes' is a major part of what goes on between the consenting adults in this place.

Come on guys, micah's right. This cruel cycle needs to end somewhere. I did cry yesterday, though, despite michah thinking I was strictly out to use and abuse people for entertainment. I have emotions too. Anyway, I'm not going to be one of those sideliners who chooses to not step in and say "knock it off," like those movie-going liberals in New York. For those people here who just want to keep it up, to everyone else I say, pity them...

I'm aware that it might not be the majority view, but Joplin just sets my teeth on edge. The screeching and over emoting does absolutely nothing for me.

Besides that, are you ok there, Dan? Don't let the Hunter capture the game!

I am doing mighty swell and living the good life with many days off. I am outside all the time in my best garden yet, although it may seem I spend much of my time sharing the fine company here. And as you’ve also indicated, giving sobriety a run for the roses. Leaned some cool new expressions from you too!

Some funny shit goes down here, and it feels good to be able to enjoy it and the music too. I think my biggest regret getting swept up in the silliness was that I may have slighted SDH somewhere, but I’m sure that’s passed. Since you’ve set me to blathering, I may as well slip this one in. When I corrected the typo above (etc) I intended some humor, sarcasm, irony; whilst simultaneously pointing at the distinction it reveals : “a person may be other than emotionally taking sides.”… et cetera.
(insert clever smiley here)

Before I lose you completely, I saw a film commissioned by the Scottish Screen for a movie named Red Road. Glasgow is seen in all it's glory and the lead actress, Kate Dickie, is right on.
O.K., I think that's it.

Lose me? You should be so lucky!

As you should have gathered by now, I play it as I see it. I'll agree or disagree with you according to what you say, not who you are. If you think that anything that transpired yesterday means in any way that I'm not going to communicate with you further then think again. Some of it will even be nice, promise!

And now, back to the gentlemen's final.

I still just don't get it--ya gotta work a little harder for it to be humorous, it seems to me...is crap being deleted before I read it?

It seems to me it was the same ol same ol for the folks that are upset with anything short of praise...if what is still posted was a joke, then, unlike good humor, it in fact does need a flag.

Or am I really missing something?

Good morning, Rob!

Perhsps I didn't get it either - I'm fully prepared to concede the possibility that maybe, just maybe, H. Seamons was entirely sincere from first word to last. Then again...

The thing is that the whole thing was absurd and I find the absurd funny - it doesn't really matter whether or not it was intentionally funny. What was also funny was the absurdity of some of the responses. Now, if laughing at that was me 'using folks for my entertainment' then mea fuckin' culpa, says I, and I'd like several other past and future transgressions taken into account also, yer honor.

Good day to you too, Master Tell!

Oh, don't worry--I got that, and I have no problem with that, it was the other folks that were debating the meaning, etc., etc; it seemed plain to me, but then, so much of the world does, and then, later, I find out my density was per usual, preventing me from seeing something, blah, blah..."always the last to know", if you follow.

It takes me a while; what I really enjoy is when I don't have to work at all at it--ya know, like chatting with a four yr old, or Dire. In fact, sometimes the four yr olds can pull one over on me, but not Dire.

:)

(he doesn't really need that, but WTF?)

So as not to be seen as slow on the uptake,I was not defending anyone yesterday and I'm certainly not so stupid as to be toyed with by the likes of Hunter Seamons. That one line in his post rang true and I felt I should address it,other than that short of being a fuckin' moron it was clear that at the very least he was not totally serious.

Thanks for the rules. But, maybe they don't apply to everyone? Sorry, I pass.

Consider the rays of the sun that are always stealing
Into the shade of the house to pour their light.
There in the void you'll notice many and sundry
Dust flecks that mingle among the rays themselves.
Stirring up a sort of ceaseless strife
Skirmishes, wars, realigning their squadrons, never
Stopping for a breath, assailed by alliance, secession.
